A Big Baby!!!

Hey family and friends!!! Especially G’ma Sally, G’pa Jack, Sheri, and Brandi ;) I know you guys are about to look at the blog, so I wanted to throw a shout out. hehe. I miss you guys VERY much! I am thankful that you all were able to visit the family in Mississippi!
I’m SO excited! Kenny & I have new pictures to post since the last blog =) We recently went home for two weeks which was absolutely amazing!!! My precious aunt had a baby shower for me, and God totally blessed our little Addison Elizabeth. We have so much of what we need for our new ‘lil addition! YAY! I’m clapping my hands! After we got home, we have been working hard on getting everything organized and ready to go for the end of August. Things are definitely coming together here in Alexandria, but the baby’s room is still a work in progress =)
Also, we had a doctor visit last Tuesday, and our doctor informed us that “little” Addie Beth is going to be a BIG baby….8 pounds or more! YIKES! Other than that, everything is great.
O! And another praise! Today I met a mom’s group of about 20 women who meet tues and thurs for play group and Bible study. They were SO friendly and invited me to start coming. I’m definitely looking forward to the fellowship and the playdates with Addie.

Week 22!!! 5 Months & Counting =)

Hey family & friends! Sorry it has been such a long time since our last post. Our internet has been acting redunkulous over the past few weeks. All is good here in Virginia =) Kenny and I have been VERY blessed to have such amazing friends and have such a great support system =)
I am extremely active with work, the military spouses club, and being pregnant. hehe. It seems as if we’ve been going nonstop, which has been so much fun, though exhausting at points. Every week Kenny and I make sure we have some sort of “date day” or “date night” to just enjoy one another. Tonight
As far as our BABY GIRL goes! YAY! Our sweet little Addison Elizabeth is doing great. She is officially 1 pound and growing. hehe. Our doctor has been super and given us great reports thus far, but she has told me to gain more weight. haha. I’ve never had anyone tell me I needed to do that. hehe. We have been working hard on our Target & Babies R Us registries since my baby shower is coming up! Our colors for the nursery are officially light pink & brown, and we have already set up the crib, which made me want to cry happy tears. haha. I’m SO excited to be a mom =) Kenny keeps talking to our sweetie & I know he’s going to make such an incredible daddy!
We are SO excited to be headed home within the next 2 weeks. It will be so wonderful to see our family & friends!
Here are some new pictures of our Addie Beth… We love our new ultrasound pictures…especially the ones with her fist raised! hehe

Baby Flutters =)

Hi again from Virginia! I just wanted to share the latest news here on the east coast. Yesterday, I officially entered into my 15th week! But the big news is that yesterday afternoon I felt the baby move! It was 3 little fluttery butterfly movements (that’s the only way I know to describe it). Kenny and I are ecstatic! I can not believe it, but week after next, I will be in the 5th month! It is flying by! Pretty soon, we’ll have a new little life in our hands.
After being under the weather, yet again (I’ve had a virus on and off again for 3 weeks), Kenny and I thoroughly enjoyed this past weekend by going to Old Town Alexandria and downtown D.C. with our friends Alyssa, Brian, and their little boy, Sladen. We had such a fun time! We ate at a fabulous restaurant called Bugsy’s, went to a historic candy store, and finally went to see the major landmarks in D.C. By the end of the weekend, we were completely zonked out. All Kenny and I wanted to do was take a nap! haha.
Thankfully, some of our friends and family are coming to visit us this month. We are very excited! Our friend Christy is coming this Saturday through Thursday, and we are planning some fun-filled excursions. There is just so much to do here in this area…and most of it’s free, which makes it even better!
More news…I’m headed to the OBGYN Monday (at 16 weeks), so hopefully new ultrasound photos will be posted VERY soon!
O! One more piece of news that I am VERY thankful for…The military wives at the Ceremonial Guard have asked me to take on the role as Vice-President. I get to assist in planning events and doing what I can to make things run smoothly. I’m excited to be a part of this group! We are actually taking a tour of the Pentagon this upcoming week (and Christy will be with me!)
Well, we look forward to hearing from you soon! Sending many hugs!

Fun Times Redecorating!

Every so often, I am hit with the redecorating bug. hehe. For the last couple of weeks, Kenny and I have been working on getting our apartment completely in order. It was mostly there, but now, we’re a pinch from being done! YAY! Since it was a big snow day yesterday, both Kenny and I were off work. We were absolutely thrilled to have one more “weekend” day together! Anyhoo, among other things, Kenny and I decided to be highly productive and finish our redecorating project. I’m SO excited! I have a couple of pictures to show you our accomplishment (hehe), including our brand new set of drawers for our bedroom, which we got for $170 off! It’s gorgemous, but inexpensive! I get pumped when Kenny and I get something we need for a great price. We really needed more drawers due to our lack of storage here. We also purchased a small pantry piece for just a teeny amount of money. Anyhoo…we’re pumped to have more space, especially since we have a little one on the way!
Okay, I’m headed to a military wives fellowship and then on to the grocery store. We have a wee bitty bit of food at this point. It’s time to get some grub! I’ve made my list of ingredients and have a dinner menu set up for this week and part of next. I’m really excited about the menu. I’ve found some great new recipes that I’m looking forward to cooking for my fantabulous husband =)

Happy Birthday Kenny!!!

YAY! It’s Kenny birthday weekend! We have had such an amazing weekend thus far. Yesterday after tutoring for a couple of hours in the a.m., Kenny and I went gallavanting & then to eat lunch at Fuddruckers. This restaurant is my hubby’s favorite because he actually gets full. They have a one-pound “the works” burger that is absolutely scrumptious. hehe. It’s enormity makes Kenny very happy. After our “date afternoon,” we went to celebrate by having a fun-filled, hilarious game night with 4 of our friends =) One of our super thoughtful amigas made Kenny a gluten-free AMAZING dessert (so I could eat it too. hehe) and presented “us” with the game Sequence (SOOO fun) and our first baby outfits!!! O my goodness! They are the teeniest, cutest onesies ever! We are so blessed!
Today is my special day with my priceless husband. We are watching his favorite movies and snuggling, and I am cooking a romantic dinner tonight =) O yes! It’s gonna be a fabulous day!
Anyhoo…I just wanted to share Kenny’s birthday weekend with you. We love you all very much and will hopefully see you soon! O, and I’ll include some new pregnancy pictures. I am almost 14 weeks at this point, and my belly is definitely growing =)

Here mom =) I hope this shows you a little bit. Kenny and I are SO excited about you & Doug coming to see us this next month. I love you VERY much! Thank you for being so amazing!

We love you all!

Love Day

This past weekend was a great one, despite the fact that I am a little under the weather. Basically, my throat feels like it’s on fire. I’ve been gargling with salt water and am going to have my throat swabbed for strep throat. Yuck!
Well…on a more positive note, let me tell you about our Valentines Day here in VA…
First, let me just say that my hubby should win “Spouse of the Year.” =) We are in the process of paying off any debt we have (YAY! It’s getting small!), so I asked Kenny not to spend any money on me for Valentines Day. With the baby coming, we just want to make sure his/her needs are taken care of, and we’re working on that now. =) Anyhoo, while I was at work Saturday morning, my sweet hubby cleaned the entire house for over an hour and a half! It looked immaculate. Not only that, but I found a letter sitting on our toilet. haha. He knew I would go there first. Since I’ve been pregnant, the bathroom is my best friend. hehe. The letter meant the world to me! It was SO sweet! Our afternoon was spent just snuggling and relaxing together.
On Sunday, we went to church in Fredericksburg, and God used the preacher to speak to Kenny and my heart concerning our stewardship. We just need to make sure we are placing our priorities where they need to be with our finances and time. I love the pastor at this church! He hits the nail on the head every time! After church, we went to lunch with some friends and ended up fellowshipping for a long time. It was such a nice time with friends..
For family….hopefully we will see you in September! I’m due September 5th, and if you can be here, we would LOVE it! Aunt Lucy…I got your message the other day! You are the cutest person ever! hehe. I’m SO happy to have you as my aunt! I just love you SO much and am thankful that you will be here to celebrate with us. Sending you MANY hugs!
We love you all! Sending you many hugs!

Our First Ultrasound!

Kenny and I went to the doctor today and had the privilege of seeing our baby for the very first time. We saw the little head, spinal cord, body, and the heartbeat. WOW! Completely incredible! It just makes it SO real for us =) Anyhoo… I tried to replicate the picture, so I hope you can see our little one. We love you!
O! And apparently my due date is Sept 1st instead of the 5th, which tickles me since Kenny’s birthday is on March 1st and mine is on Oct. 1st.

10 Weeks Today!

Hey family and friends!
Sorry to just now post another blog, but it has been a busy few weeks equipped with nausea and exhaustion! haha. From what I understand, that’s just what happens in the first trimester =) As soon as I get home from work, I try to cook some dinner. By that point, I am just completely poopied out. My Kenny has been wonderful! Anytime the nausea hits or I feel icky, he rubs my back or fixes me juice or just snuggles with me. I am one blessed woman!
Well, as of last week, I have officially entered into the third month. My belly is poofing out just a teeny bit. haha. It’s funny b/c my pants are starting to get a little bit snug, so I’m about to start resorting to rubberbands or bread ties in order to have a little extra room. haha. I’ve been trying to watch my weight, and stay within the recommended pound gainage. So far, I’ve gained 4 pounds =c)
Kenny and I have been reading all about our little White, and it is beyond amazing. Our baby is approximately 2 inches at this point with his/her organs in place. Kenny and I are constantly amazed at how fast a little life can be created. God is SO good! We have our 2nd doctor’s appointment this Monday. I’m pretty excited about this one! The last appointment was a 3 hour orientation on what we would expect at the hospital and so-on-and-so-forth. It’s a mandatory military hospital thing-a-ma-jig. It actually turned out to be a good, highly informative 3 hours, but we were in a room with 15 other couples. I’m ready for my one-on-one question and answer session with the doctor. hehe. O! And just so you know, Kenny and I have chosen to go to the hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. It’s 30 minutes from our house, but it has a great reputation and it’s the President’s hospital, so they have everything!
As far as Navy life goes, Kenny is doing very well! He had a day off Friday and has one this upcoming Monday too! YAY! It’s because they worked SO hard for the inauguration.
We like Virginia, but we miss San Diego too! The weather here has been FRIGID…with windchills at zero. Thankfully, this weekend, the temperature is supposed to be 60! YAY! Tomorrow, we are heading to Fredericksburg, VA, to meet a couple of friends at church, and then we are going to lunch afterward. Hopefully, we will find a church home soon.
We love you all very much! We look forward to seeing you in the late Spring! Sending you many hugs!!!

Big News!!!

What a start to a brand New Year! Kenny and I had no idea that 2 days before 2008 ended, we would receive such life-changing news. haha. According to 4 different pregnancy tests, I officially have a little White in my belly. hehe. I took 3 on the Dec. 30th, but just had to take one more on the 31st. I had to see it one more time, and of course all the results were the exact same. At first, shock set in. We just didn’t know that our ‘lil one would be on its way sooo soon. But in saying that, after the shock wore off, the enthusiasm and excitement began. Kenny and I are going to be parents! What a huge blessing!!! We are so thrilled!
So, I have a couple of prayers requests. Please pray for our baby’s health and the pregnancy in general. Kenny and I just switched over our insurance to the North Region (our insurance was still in the West), so I should be able to make a doctors appointment within the next week. Please pray that God will place us with an incredible doctor. Since we have insurance provided by the military, we will have a list of doctors to choose from.
Today has been great, but I am definitely experiencing some of the symptoms. haha. I am sooo exhausted and feel famished every 2 to 3 hours. And apparently, body aches are also a small part of this whole process. Kenny has been such an incredible hubby…rubbing my sore muscles as much as possible. I just feel so grateful and am going to soak up these precious moments. YAY! I’m clapping my hands in excitement! WOW!
We love you all VERY much and look forward to sharing this time with you.
We’re so blessed to have such AMAZING family and friends! Sending you many hugs from Virginia!
